WHAT DO YOU GET WHEN YOU MIX EIGHT BANDS WITH A MONKEE?

September 20th, 2011- The 9th annual Donald Berman Maimonides Battle of the Bands promises to be bigger than ever with rock legend Micky Dolenz of The Monkees , performing with each of the bands on both nights.  

"We are so excited to perform with Micky Dolenz and take the show to a new level. This year is the ninth annual Battle of the Bands and it's going to be bigger and better than ever!" says co-chair Gerry Kandestin.

The Donald Berman Maimonides Battle of the Bands features baby-boomer bands made up of dentists, doctors, lawyers, stockbrokers and entrepreneurs who showcase their musical talent to raise money for Donald Berman Maimonides Geriatric Centre. The 2011 two-night extravaganza will take place on Tuesday December 6th and Wednesday December 7th at METROPOLIS with monies raised going towards the Donald Berman Maimonides Centre for Research in Aging.

Back by popular demand, we will be rolling out the red carpet for our sponsors and special guests with a cocktail reception in the Delmar VIP Lounge.

On December 6th, UB Over 40 with Morris Dascal and team will perform along with Gerry and Friends, starring Gerry Kandestin. Benny and the Healers, with well-known Montreal dental surgeons Benny Saleh and Sylvio Caro and The Dynamics, with front-man Jeff Solomon, and singer Jodi Lazarus round out Night 1. On Night 2, Here's Johnny, featuring Johnny Miller, and Who Cares, featuring Rory Olson will be in the limelight. Switchback, featuring Freddie Naimer and Elliot Schuchat and NEW this year Old FX starring Richard Yanofsky and Robbie Goldfarb round out night 2. Andy Nulman will once again MC both nights.
